having a three day visit at Belitung Island seems like a dream come true. enjoying all the great beach scenery with its big rock, that we have seen and filmed at Laskar Pelangi movie, the famous film by Andrea Hiralta. Clear and white sand with no garbage at all.
I went there with my beloved wifey, we were just married, and choosing this island as our honey moon destination.
It takes one and half hour to reach Bangka Island by plane from Jakarta. and it takes four hours from Bangka Island to Belitung by speed boat. We took the executive class which cost Rp. 150.000 or USD 14. Actually there is another short way to reach Belitung, from Jakarta takes only approximately one hour, but due to I have to visit Bangka, then we take our first option. Moreover we would like to enjoy the famous Martabak Bangka. One tips that everyone must know when visiting Belitung Island through Bangka is that the speed boat sailed accros to Belitung is only once in a day and depart at 14.00 so you've got to be on deck at least an hour before.
We enjoy the voyage very much, my wife and I were loving this. get involved with local people on the same boat, chatting about culture and tradition and everything about Belitung.
The best food at Belitung island voted to crab served with Padang sauce (spicy one) with red chili and crab served with Sweet and Sour seasoning.
